LVM and File System Creation. Now that Ive created my big RAID array see part 1. Of my server upgrade , I want to set up LVM on top of it so I can carve out some volumes to create my file systems. The first step is to define my RAID 5 array as a volume, known as a Physical Volume PV, to be managed by LVM.
